2027 master plan – a second ‘Set Sail’ 5G expansion plan aims for 85% 5G penetration and 75% of network traffic on 5G. The total number of 5G base stations in China reached 4.486 million as of the end of May (2025), according to data released by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile carrier in terms of subscribers, had previously outlined plans to deploy 340,000 additional 5G base stations in 2025. With these new 5G deployments, China Mobile’s total 5G base stations will reach nearly 2.8 million by the end of 2025.
Mobile operators in China are ramping up 5G and 5G-A rollouts, with the former now at 4.5 million cell sites and the latter in 300 cities; a new 2027 roadmap will see 75% of mobile data in the country on 5G networks. 5G on 5M sites – China has over 4.486 million 5G sites; 5G now comprises more than 35% of total mobile base stations.

However, the expansion of broadband internet connections in the Dominican Republic is lagging behind, with around 85 percent of all residents having internet access.
A user in the Dominican Republic spends 4.4% of his income on mobile telephony. This is a high consumption rate in a worldwide comparison, where the average is around 6.6%.
The Dominican Republic ranks 106th for download speed with an average of 21.29 Mbit/second in mobile internet. The upload speed was around 8 Mbit, placing it 119th in the Speedtest Global Index published by Ookla based on several million individual measurements in August 2023 from 182 countries.
Astana railway station is the city's main railway station and serves approximately 7,000 people each day. A new railway station, Nurly Zhol was built during the Expo 2017 event with a customer capacity of 12,000. Tulpar Talgo is a daily express train to Almaty.
The city's transport infrastructure includes the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, a key hub for both domestic and international flights. The FC Astana-1964 is based in the Kazhymukan Munaitpasov Stadium and plays in the Astana Municipal Football League. The club's most successful years were 2000s, when they won 3 league titles. Astana is home to several professional ice hockey teams.
In 2023, BPC agreed to procure up to 600 MW of power generation from a yet-to-be-built coal-fired power station. Additionally, Botswana imports the bulk of its power from South African utility Eskom, and the rest from Nampower (Namibia), Zesco (Zambia), and the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), to make up for any production shortfalls.
It was established in 1970 and is currently the only electricity supplier in the country. BPC represents Botswana in the Southern African Power Pool. Morupule Power Station (coal-fired) in Palapye supplies 80% of domestically generated electricity, however the country is dependent on importing energy from its neighbours.
